Massed Virtual Choir

Massed Virtual Choir

Dear Parents/Carers,

Instead of the Tunbridge Wells Massed Singing Festival we have decided to do a Massed Virtual Choir. We are very much hoping to get as many children as possible involved in this and will hopefully provide variety in the home – schooling day!  Please could you encourage your children to get involved. There is an introductory video plus copies of the words and music, and practice tracks attached.

  • Listen to the YouTube track to become familiar with the track – this is to familiarise yourself with the tune only – it is not to be recorded from as it is in a different key to the backing tracks
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw-eRZyv7Bk
  • View/print off the music or the words from the attachments above
  • Practice either the top or bottom part with the practice track (not the YouTube track)
  • When you are ready you need to listen to the practice track through headphones and record just your voice. Don’t worry if you don’t think it sounds amazing, there are lots of clever things we can do to edit the music when we put it together!
  • Acceptable formats for recordings are MP3, MP4A or WAV
  • PARENTS – If you are happy for your children’s picture/video to be on social media in a video that we will put together then please send a picture or your child singing it with the headphones on and/or a video
  • Please send the sound recording and video/picture with your child’s school and age by 19th April to:
    elisa.harrod@rosehillschool.co.uk
  • If you would like to also record the second part then please have a go at this too!!
  • Please contact your child’s class teacher with any queries

PARENTS/CARERS – Please note that by sending in your recordings you give permission for the recording to be used in the massed choir recording. If you choose to send photos and videos too you are giving permission for these to also be used in a video to accompany the track which may be used on social media. Individual names will not be used.
