We are currently for a Teaching Partner

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teaching partner to join our team at Temple Grove Academy.

Term time only including INSET days (39 weeks), for a fixed term until 31 July 2025. Hours will be Monday-Friday 8.30am – 15.30pm.

The main focus of the role is to provide support to pupils. Your responsibilities may include supporting children in achieving the lesson objective, leading 1:1 and group intervention programmes, feeding back to the class teacher, maintaining records of progress and behaviour, working with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural, personal care or medical needs and liaising with parents and external professionals.

The successful candidate will have:

  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Maths
  • Experience working or volunteering with children / young people
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  • Good ICT skills
  • Enjoyment of working with children
  • Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
  • A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils, and promoting the ethos and values of the school
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Commitment to safeguarding pupil’s wellbeing and equality
  • Resilient, positive, forward looking and enthusiastic about making a difference
  • Capacity to inspire, motivate and challenge children and young people
  • First-aid training, or willingness to complete it

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities
  • Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities (under supervision)
  • Using ICT to support learning
  • Understanding of roles and responsibilities within the classroom and whole school context
  • Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all pupils 
  • Knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs
  • Subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to the role, and ability to apply this effectively in supporting teachers and pupils
  • Willingness to develop and run an afterschool club

Pay rate is KR4 (pro-rata) dependant on experience.
