Intent:

At Temple Grove Academy, our primary school PSHEC curriculum is designed with a clear intent to nurture the holistic development of our students, fostering their well-being, social skills, and emotional intelligence. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive education that equips students with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. We believe that a robust PSHEC education contributes to the personal and social development of our students, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter as responsible citizens.

Key Intentions:

  1. Well-being and Resilience: Promote well-being and resilience by addressing physical, mental, and emotional health.
  2. Social and Emotional Intelligence: Develop social and emotional intelligence, encouraging positive relationships and effective communication.
  3. Safety and Citizenship: Equip students with the knowledge and skills to stay safe and make responsible choices as active citizens.
  4. Economic Awareness: Introduce economic awareness, providing a foundation for understanding financial literacy and economic principles.

Implementations:

To achieve our PSHEC curriculum goals, we have chosen to collaborate with Kapow, a platform that aligns with our teaching philosophy and provides comprehensive resources and tools for delivering dynamic and engaging PSHEC lessons. Kapow supports our educators in creating an interactive and immersive PSHEC curriculum.

Key Implementations:

  1. Extensive Resource Library: Utilize Kapow’s extensive library of PSHEC resources, including lesson plans, activities, and multimedia content, to enhance the variety and depth of PSHEC lessons.
  2. Interactive Lessons: Incorporate Kapow’s interactive features, such as scenario-based discussions, role-playing activities, and multimedia resources, to make PSHEC lessons engaging and relevant.
  3. Progress Tracking: Use Kapow’s tools to track students’ progress in their understanding of well-being, social skills, and safety awareness, ensuring targeted interventions and personalized support.
