School Receptionist – part time (2 days per week)

14.8 hours per week (Wednesday & Friday 8.15am – 4.15pm)

38 weeks (term time + INSET days)

Pay Grade: KR4 (points 14-17)

Full Time Annual Salary: £23,338

TGA is a 1 form entry primary based in Royal Tunbridge Wells (near High Brooms train station), 50 minutes by train from central London. The academy has 4 acres of land for outdoor education including it’s own forest school.

An exciting opportunity is offered within the Temple Grove Academy Trust for a School Receptionist to join our friendly office team at our Tunbridge Wells Primary School.

Part-time (Wednesdays and Fridays 8.15am – 4.15pm), term time + INSET days only (39 weeks per year).

The main focus of the role is to act as the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders, being an ambassador for the school, embodying our value, vision and ethos in all interactions. You will also be central in supporting with the administrative processes within the school including single central record, newsletter and sending messages to parents through Arbor.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills
    First aid training (or willingness to complete it)
    Experience dealing with face-to-face and telephone interactions
    Experience of working and collaborating within a team
    Excellent oral and written communications skills
    Ability to respond quickly and effectively to issues that arise
    Ability to use own initiative and act accordingly
    Excellent attention to detail
    Ability to use IT packages including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
    Ability to use office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners and laminators effectively
    Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues
    Understanding of data protection and confidentiality
    Understanding of safeguarding
    Commitment to promoting the ethos and values of the school

Full-time, all year (27 days A/L plus Bank Holidays)

Pay Grade:KR5 (points 14-17) 37 hours per week for 52 weeks

An exciting opportunity is offered within the Temple Grove Academy Trust for a Premises Officer working at our Tunbridge Wells Primary School.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and promoting health and safety around the school
  • Site management, including arranging and supervising external contractors, site use and development planning
  • Carrying out handyperson activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment, porterage, and minor repairs if necessary
  • Main point of contact for school cleaning contractors
  • Assessing and evaluating risk on the school site

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills
  • Experience of working in building maintenance
  • Experience of working with security, including alarm systems
  • Experience working with a variety of contractors
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations including Health and Safety, Manual Handling, COSHH, Legionella etc.
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team
  • Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a variety of tasks
  • Ability to gather information, review and problem solve.
  • The ability to operate and understand electrical/mechanical systems.
  • A conscientious and logical approach to the variety of tasks necessary for the smooth running of the school.
